World renowned artist Kate Jenkins, famous for her enchanting pop-art crochet, knit, and embroidery creations, is weaving the flavor of New Orleans into her latest, exclusive collection opening on Friday, March 15th at Leroy’s Place.
We are excited to be hosting Kate’s Creole Kitchen, where Kate will be serving up her most recent designs—namely the playful crocheted oysters, which she will be sewing onto custom created ice illustrations and signing on site—in the heart of the city that inspired the work.
Kate Jenkins has long been admired for knitting past traditional woolen boundaries to transform yarn into her magical cornucopia of creations, focusing on food and fun, with each piece showcasing her trademark sense of humor and whimsy. This much anticipated, interactive exhibition at Leroy’s Place marks Jenkins’ first opening in New Orleans, bringing her unique talent to a place celebrated for its vibrant arts—and food—scene. Come join us for a night of food and fun with Kate Jenkins at Leroy’s Place!
