At Leroy’s Place we know that art is not created in a vacuum, and we believe in giving back to the community that fuels our consciously created work by donating annually to esteemed organizations, regularly hosting gatherings that inspire our neighbors to act, and partnering with like-minded brands that also have give-back initiatives. We have donated upwards of $5K over the life of our give-back project, and we hope to continue growing this number. Read more below for how Leroy’s Place pays it forward.

Tupac, Dolly Parton, Divine, and the Dalai Lama are just a few of the faces that make up the Leroy’s Place icons collection—faces that have impacted us and the world at large with their music, movies, and mission. And just as they’ve sent ripples out into the ether as tastemakers and change makers, we’ve made a point to follow in their footsteps and use their image to give back to an ever-growing group of non-profit organizations whose work relates either directly or indirectly to these iconic figures:
Planned Parenthood – RBG – a nonprofit organization with roots in Brooklyn, NY, that provides reproductive and sexual healthcare, and sexual education in the United States and globally.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library – Dolly – dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age five, through funding shared by Dolly Parton and local community partners
One Tree Planted – Bernie Sanders – a non-profit environmental non-profit tree planting charity that plants trees in countries around the world. They plant one tree for every dollar donated.
New Orleans Musician’s Clinic – Allen Toussaint & James Booker – provides comprehensive medical care and social services to local musicians, performing artists, cultural workers, and tradition bearers. They serve any patient 19 or older and their family, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.
Marsha P. Johnson Institute – Marsha P. Johnson – Protects and defends the human rights of black transgender people, seeking to eradicate systemic, community, and physical violence.
Feed the Second Line – Red Beans Anne Rice – dedicated to supporting the culture bearers of New Orleans. They seek to build a more equitable city by creating opportunities for the people that make it a vibrant place by purchasing groceries and other essentials, creating job opportunities, and providing general support for those who make our city a culturally rich place.
Equal Justice Initiative (2022) / Promise of Justice Initiative (2023) – Allen Toussaint & James Booker – working to create positive change for people in the criminal legal system at the intersection of impact litigation, direct services and community engagement. Their tools include criminal and civil litigation, organizing, direct support, and policy advocacy.
We are proud to announce that we are adding two new organizations for 2023:
Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence – Biggie & Tupac – at the forefront of the fight for justice and legislative reform.
Maui Nui Strong – Acme Jewelry collection – Our hearts go out to the many families and businesses who have been impacted by the Maui wildfires. MNS aims to provide information, resources, and support to help those in need during these challenging times.
Community Gatherings and Events
From our recent Fronda performance in New Orleans, to the seasonal Last Saturday parties hosted in our Brooklyn courtyard, we have a mission to engage our community both with the art we create and with our consciously curated events that raise funds and awareness for the causes and organizations we align with.
Partner Brands with a Give-Back Initiative
The brands and makers that we carry online and in our shops reflect the same ideals that we possess, and many have their own give-back initiatives that we support by stocking them. You can shop the full collection of brands and makers that make a difference here.
Leroy’s Place is continuously looking to further build relationships with grass-roots organizations and community efforts through our products and creative work. If you have an idea for how we might grow our network of non-profit organizations and causes, feel free to drop us a line.
